Representatives of most churches in Marrickville
Commenced 2001.
On June 4 2000, about 15 of the local clergy stood publically,
holding lighted candles in Marrickville Park. They prayed together,
"May they burn brightly, reflecting our words and deeds
as we work together to bring about the Kingdom." Out
of this commitment, the CUAG developed. |

Vision/Mission Statement:
Coming from church communities within the Marrickville district,
we have reflected on the Lord's call to unity in John 17, and
pray constantly that our churches will respond more fully to
this call.
Not as a committee do we join together, but as an action group,
challenging our Church communities to think ecumenically and
make their pastoral decisions in that context.
We commit ourselves in love to the healing of the dicisions
amongst our denominations through joint activities such as:
- Prayer for interdenominational cooperation and unity;
- Information sharing amongst our communities, that will more
highly profile the ecumenical movement;
- Creating opportunities for broader attendance at interdenominational
celebrations and activities; and
- Providing through our common Christian witness, a greater
credibility for Christian faith amidst an increasingly secular
society.
